Confessions of a couch potato - Part 8

Friday 24/04/2020 05:30 Couch to 5k Week 8-1

I decided to take a slightly different route today as the other one was getting a bit repetitive.

I ran through the high street and along the main roads. To my delight I found it not quite as hilly as the other route and easier going.

5 minute warm up walk, then run for 28 minutes straight, then 5 minute cooldown

Sunday 26/04/2020 06:00 Strength and Flexibility Week 5-2

A cracking morning this morning, managed to get myself out of bed relatively early.

I can now perform all exercises with full reps and full range of movement.

I have increased the reps on some exercises to 15.

Lovely walk back in sunshine. Sun just rising above the rooftops

Monday 27/04/2020 05:30 Couch to 5k Week 8-2

Another bright and beautiful morning!

5 minute warm up walk, then run for 28 minutes straight, then 5 minute cooldown

Plodding along at a steady pace, breathing not to laboured.

This new route dips, then rises slowly all the way to the half way point and slightly beyond.

The run back is mostly downhill, so time to let the mind wander.

This is a good time for reflection and often answers to questions pop into my head.

Five minute cooldown walk to home, watching the sun rise.

Having fun with this routine now. I’m performing all exercises precisely and increasing the amount of reps.

Wednesday 05:30 29/04/2020 05:30 Couch to 5k Week 8-3

Looks like it’s rained this morning. There are very small puddles in the street. I’ve been lucky these eight weeks. I was only rained on a couple of times and only very briefly and lightly.

5 minute warm up walk, then run for 28 minutes straight, then 5 minute cooldown

I’m getting used to the running now, I was able to keep running when it got the 5 minute cool down at the end .

Week 8 complete, one week left of the couch to 5k!

Thursday 30/04/2020 05:30 Strength and Flexibility Week 5

I got rained on this morning, that’ll teach me for the last post!

Good routine, all exercises performed with good form, increasing the amount of reps.

Good workout.
