Protecting yourself from negativity

Does other people’s negative energy bring you down to their level?

Maybe it’s a colleague, neighbour, or family member. It’s easy to absorb negative energy and start to feel negative yourself.

This can mess with your mind and leave you feeling emotionally drained. We all strive for happiness, but it’s almost impossible to avoid negative thoughts, people and situations.

Say goodbye to negative people! Avoid spending time with negative people, by distancing yourself from them whenever possible. Life is simply too short to spend time with toxic people. There are a lot of great people out there, who can lift your spirits. It’s important to be around people who you get along with and who uplift your spirits. Challenge toxic people and complainers to look differently at their problems and ask how they intend to fix them. If nothing else it will temporarily stop their negativity or redirect the conversation towards the positive. Be firm with your boundaries.

When someone does something that crosses a line, let them know. You have to stand up for yourself and don’t let others take advantage of your good nature. Thanks to Andre Hunter for the image
